Speaker Phone does not work on LG G2

this is a "new" phone I received in replacement of one I had to turn in on a warranty issue (I cracked the screen). But on this "new" one the speaker phone does not work. Anyone have a clue as to why it doesn't work? I hate to take it back in to replace it although I am sure it falls under warranty. I hope it is just a clicked button or something. Mute is also not on during this time. Verizon network if that matters.
