Default Removing Backup Assistant Plus under Account Settings

Now that I've updated to Kit Kat, and Cloud replaced Backup Assistant Plus, why is it still under Settings/Accounts? Is there a way to remove it?Removing Backup Assistant Plus under Account Settings-uploadfromtaptalk1405207662364.jpg

Been kinda wondering this myself...can't seem to get rid of it, it doesn't interfere with anything but it is slightly annoying.

I'm actually death going to custom rom soon, they have matured a lot in recent months... no more random reboots or Sleep of Death anymore and I am a huge fan of Beanstalk, so might not be an issue for me soon.

Honestly, unless I find something else amazing it will be Beanstalk... there is an official release of it for the vs980. Beanstalk is the most feature packed and stable ROM I have ever used, and I have tried lots, but I always go back to it. It's been on my Skyrocket, HTC Rezound, and HTC Incredible 2.

Just flashed TWRP and am downloading a few ROMs to a thumb drive to test with... I love USB OTG

Spent all evening trying different ROMs, I chose 3 or 4 based on my previous experience and what I like... AOKP, Beanstalk, Dirty Unicorns, and CarbonROM... I went with Beanstalk

AOKP - I have heard this ROM was excellent for the G2 from several people, that it was just rock solid and feature packed... but I could not get it to install, tried re-downloading, comparing MD5sums, but just couldn't get it to even flash much less boot. My guess is there is something wrong with the build on the server, I was doing something wrong, or something weird because it really wasn't mentioned in the forums that others were having the issue. I would still like to figure out the problem and flash this, I haven't really heard anything bad about it.

CarbonROM - A veteran favorite of mine, nice ROM and feature packed, I played with it for about an hour before moving on (I seriously thought about sticking with this one)

Dirty Unicorns - I had heard a lot about his one on several hardware platforms, but never tried it... I was frankly impressed, the ROM is feature packed, has a very polished and clean feel to it, and is very fluid and powerful. This ROM surprised me with it's quality and feature set, the guys over at DU are doing things right... but I had to move to the last one...

Beanstalk - OK, for me this ROM is like coming home... no matter how nice it was were you where, being home is so comforting... I will be honest though, I don't know why more people don't use this ROM, it is extremely polished, stable, well laid out, and packed with more features than you can shake a stick at. In my opinion, this is one of the best ROMs out there for any device it supports, period... My config on both my Nexus 4 and my G2 is Beanstalk, PA Stock Gapps package, Nova Launcher Prime, Dashclock, and HD Widgets. My only issue with Beanstalk on the G2 is the "DSP Manager" issue, where DSP Manager stops when you use Apollo, Spotify, and some media players, but audio still plays fine, on my Nexus 4 there was a patch you could flash to fix it, haven't found a fix on G2 yet.

I have yet to try some of the other top ROMs for the G2, Malladus, XDABBEB's ROM, Mahdi-ROM, SlimKat, and Paranoid Android, but I think it is one of those things that you just have to try it and go with the one you like best since no ROM will be everyone's favorite. If you are up for testing I would recommend trying all of these, if not, I would suggest Beanstalk, Paranoid Android, or Dirty Unicorns.

Mahdi ROM all the way brother. Been running it for months. Totally stable and smooth. I've flashed just about every other ROM for vs980. Since flashing Mahdi, haven't looked back.

Just flashed Mahdi, and gave it a 30 minute whirl... Pretty nice actually, I would make it a toss up to DU with both in second place, I still think Beanstalk is superior except it still uses the old CM theme engine.

If anyone is going to try it I would suggest flashing ROM and variant patch, booting fully and go through Mahdi setup, then reboot and flashing Gapps, it could be confusing to an inexperienced flasher doing it all at once.

Once annoyance I have with many AOSP ROMs, including Mahdi, for the Verizon G2 is the network name shows "T-CDMA 64"... I know this can be changed in the settings of most ROMs but it shouldn't have to. Beanstalk is one that "fixed", although it maybe because its CM based but I haven't tried pure CM in a long time so I'm not sure.

I've heard of peeps having the T-CDMA bug but I never once got it. Of all the AOSP ROMs I flashed, not once did this show up for me. And I flashed a lot before sticking with Mahdi lol.

Sorry for the late response. Tapatalk didn't notify me of a response. But yes autorec should be fine.

Guys I'm taking Cloudy G3 for a spin. Besides not being able to send MMS with stock messaging app, it is running pretty smooth.
