Yea update removed my camera and deleted every contact i have.

Well at least I didn't loose my contacts. But I lost my camera and my calendar! I didn't ask for this...

OK...so here's my story: On a brief look around I found that I lost my camera, calendar, file manager and backup assistant connection. I called Verizon and after trying to find these apps the tech said she'd have to send me a NEW PHONE! What disturbs me about this is she said since the phone was still under warranty the replacement would be free. But that suggests it may well cost me something if one of their future software upgrades breaks my out of warranty phone.

Same here - they want me to get a REFURBISHED phone that could have had who knows what wrong with it in place of my phone. I'm not ok with that. They broke it, they can give me a NEW one, not a refurb that had screen problems, speaker problems, or who knows what spilled in or on it.

Oh - and also missing the e-mail icon on mine too - it is no where to be found.

What email client were you using? I was using Gmail and it's still there.
I'd be really ticked at a re-furb too. I would go to AT&T but they don't reach my house! Verizon gives me 3 bars at home and that's worth a little grief.

I did not choose to update. It did this itself with no input from me.

I just went through the gamut with IT at Verizon. No camera, gallery, contacts and whatever else I havent noticed. After being sent to 2nd tier IT, it was determined that I'll need a new phone. According to Verizon, LG has said that every remedy they have tried has made the issue worse. She also informed me that I should check forums before I ever install these updates. So nerve racking considering that it was a manufacturers update.

Great advise. But as I posted before, my phone didn't even ask me! It just went ahead and did it on its own. That's what's really got me PO'd. It just self-destructed at their command.

Talked to tier 2 support at Verizon. They said GOOGLE pushed this update and that it wasn't LG or Verizon at fault. They had LG on the other line and supposedly over 50% of the people that got this push (we were all the unlucky ones that got it first before they stopped sending it out) have complained with this same problem. I really don't see the fix being them sending out thousands of refurbished phones, and according to the tier 2 support person they are working on a fix which should be pushed to the phones "shortly". When asked to define shortly it was from minutes to days. I'm still not too thrilled it happened, but would love to know if the blame game is accurate or where the actual fault is in this.

I will wait a day, but if this isn't fixed by tomorrow I won't take a refurb (and lose all my data, hell no) and will fight them for a full upgrade to a NEW phone, or they will be having one heck of a credit card dispute since my phone is only a couple months old. I bought new, not refurb, and THEY broke it with this faulty update, not me. Just like if someone walks into my retail store and broke something ... you break it, you bought it ... They broke it, they should replace it with a NEW one.

I had the same issues. I lost my contacts, my gmail accounts, calender, etc. I took it to a verizon store who hard started it which did nothing to fix the problem.
I went to my Verizon store and told them what happened. I am getting a brand new phone (not a refurb)! I would fight if anyone tries to get you anything but a new phone. I too have only had my phone a few months. Also, I was told that this would NOT void my warranty because it was a software problem and not a true issue with the phone.
I hope that helps... it has been a frustrating day.

Yep me too... They sent a "refurbished" like new replacement. My intuition was in Warranty but I sure hope they don't send anymore updates!!!

If you didnt factory reset yet tether to your computer it found my pic in the internal memory . but reseting doesnt help and I feel the same way I didnt do it they should eat the money give us new phones or fix it asap . They should have to deal with LG not us . Also if you havent checked you cant access any google app at all either the only contacts i still have is my facebook ones. they need to fix this mess I really like my Intuition but this is ridiculous .

I got "certified like new" replacement phone yesterday at noon. Its OK. It has the update on it (have no idea what this update was supposed to do anyways) and I don't see anything different except its taking much longer to take a full charge and the battery power is draining very fast even though I have my display brightness on only 16%.

The rom update has been in house at verizon for months for testing. Google nor LG push the updates , verizon does. they way they work is that verizon has a contract with manufacturers to give them the rom update. verizon in turn tells lg what they need to fix to meet their standards for their network (usually tell them to add bloatware.). almost all updates from the manufacturers lg samsung and htc are flawed in some way or the other. it is verizons job to test it for THEIR custumers in order for flaws to be fixed to verizons standards. verizon has had it for months and oked the update and pushed it as an approved working update. The problem was that not many handsets were sold so they did not put to much empasis on testing for their customers. lg and verizons are at fault but per contract verizon sings of on it and test on it for review of bugs etc.

ex. verizon has a legal obligation to the THEIR end user which they sold the phone to especially when subsidized.. ever notice the verizon logo on all phones. its a verizon backed product manufactured by lg. (you deal with verizon and should not have to deal with lg, as a matter of fact you cant deal with lg direct for warranty replacement since they are not the backers, verizon is..

what im trying to say is that verizon by law must satisfactorily deal with the customer and not scapegoat to their sub contractor. it is like walmart telling you to contact the bejing factory in china because your coffee table arrived with parts missing....

Yeah amazing how when you call Verizon they are telling people its LG's fault. I even had one Verizon tech ask me to call LG and talk to their customer service! What a bunch of idiots
