Is there a way to disable this so when I hit my home button when i am on my home screen it doesnt pop up?

In order to do this you have to go into the app and do all the set up for it. Once you do this you go into the settings and you will see that you can disable it from the Home button. Unfortunately it will still be there if you swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

U don't have to set it up you can Skype up from the bottom of the screen then press the left soft key where u can select settings and disable it from working with the home key
