I just tested my new Note 3 and I'm getting about 20 more megabits than I did with the 5s! So far I'm enjoying the transition.

Same carrier, same location...only thing that changed was the phone. The lower speed is in a different location...but blazing fast!
The wifi test was throttled wifi at work.

Where the 5s and Note 3 done back to back and on the same server?

They were done in my home, from my home internet, and connected to a Madison server. I'm in the Northwoods of WI, so there are limited connectivity options in the speedtest app.
Yeah the thing is speeds can vary drastically even in a short period of time. This isn't my peak speed test, but shows variation even at non peak times. I have seen speed test on the 5s at 80mbps. Note that the 5s is a cat 3 device, and the Note 3 is a cat 4 device so theoretically, the note 3 can be 50% faster than the 5s,though not currently as Verizon hasn't deployed speeds greater than 100mbps yet. In theory if Verizon proportions b4 20x20mhz to its full potential then speeds can reach 150mbps.

I hear a lot of people talk about Verizon prices...
We pay 151 and change with taxes for 2 htc droid dna smart phones unlimited talk and text and 6gb data on a share everything...
Although we only use about 3.5 go data that's about 75 per phone with great coverage and data speeds... Yes I could get it slightly cheaper (not much). Forgot to add that that price is with my 18% employer discount... Just wanted to share this info

I really don't think Verizon is that bad, I have 1 phone unlimited talk/text w4GB data and pay about $115 a month

Wow...you were right! I cut my phone bill in half, and so what if I go over; it's only $10 per gig. They took away tethering but I can get that back anyway with root.
