So I have to trade in my note 3 (it keeps over heating and killing the battery) but I need to save my texts and pictures. I have back up to Gmail app and it works pretty good but I would like to find a way to save these things to my SD card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    thanks!

I use SMS Backup. It backs it up to the phone, you must direct it to backup to the sd card but it will do it. Then on new phone install SMS Backup app, perform a restore. The data will be on the sd card you swap over.

I actually use Verizon Messages; it has backup and restore capabilities as well.
(Began using it long before it came preinstalled [read: I willingly installed it.].)
