Antivirus

I'm on Verizon with the note 3 running 4.4.4 ..I just got the phone a couple of days ago. Do I need to run a Antivirus, like avg or is the software capable of protection itself ?

You are probably protected by VZ Protect but I added CM Security to my Note 3!

I use AVG, but Android is relatively safe compared to computers. That's not to say hackers aren't trying to find ways in. In the world of computers and similar devices, it's always better to be safe than sorry.

Anything that connects to the Internet is not safe and needs additional protection in my opinion. For me it's not worth the risk of not doing what I can to keep the bugs and hackers out.
