Emails have stopped updating?

Hello! I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or knows how to fix it. My emails have stopped updating on my S4. I didn't change any of the settings, and I still have the phone set to receive new emails every 15 minutes, but not only does it not do this, I am also never notified when I have a new email. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you!

Did you download any app such as. Qualcomm's battery guru or enable the S4's battery saver. That's the only thing I can think of. Try a battery pull and see if that corrects your issue.

Mine works most of the time, but occasionally I will get notifications many hours after the email was actually received.

Make sure to leave sync turned on in the pull-down menu.
