Galaxy S4: New Icon on Notification Bar

Just updated my S4 to Kitkat and now I have a new icon I have never seen, it looks like a sideways Z in a white square, any ideas what this is?

Figured it out, it is the NFC symbol

I think when you are connected to wifi the 4G symbol will fade. My guess is they are doing this for marketing reasons because 4G is marketed heavily. Maybe they want to make sure people know they have 4G available even if they aren't using it?
