Constant App force closes after update

Ever since updating yesterday, nearly every app is freezing or forceclosing. Twitter, wikipedia, tapatalk, facebook, and USA Today just to name a few. Is it because these apps aren't optimized for kitkat or is a galaxy issue? I Googled the issue and noticed the sprint update seemed to create the same issues on the s4. My phone was amazing until until the update. No issues at all. It's like they break your phone intentionally to encourage a quicker update to the s5.

Have you tried clearing cached data on those apps?

Also, a factory reset should clear up most if not all issues. It's a pain, but OTA updates are essentially a dirty flash, so it makes sense to me.
