weak data bad battery

I have been using a thunderbolt for several months and have never been able to get good battery life. Because at home and work my battery drains literally in 4-5 hours without me using it. I think its killing the point If I have to have my phone plugged in constantly and it gets super hot due to weak signal issues at home/work. Do you think its possible verizon would let me get a different phone b/c on my account theres all these tickets regarding battery? i've pretty much tried everything even w/ flashing new roms/kernels? or is possible cut off some of my ETF. If anyone knows please give me some input. tired of having a phone i can barely use

Try talking to someone at Verizon, you may get someone nice like I was.

I recently worked there as tech support and had several customers complaining about the Thunderbolt's horrible battery life. I was lucky to have a lenient supervisor, and she would approve me sending the customer an extended battery for free, or exchanging their Thunderbolt for the Charge or Revolution (a "certified-like-new" device though, not brand new device if you were outside the 14-day return period).
