Massive VZW data outage

There is a widespread data outage just coming to the attention of Verizon tech support. Folks in NJ, PA, TX, FL and MA have reported loss of data combined with a SIM Card Authorization error icon on the notification bar of Droid RAZR phones. I'm one of these folks. Just spoke with VZW and they've just started a trouble ticket on the issue. See the Phandroid Razr forum for more details.

Htc thunderbolt in Philadelphia pa here, have been on 3g for 2 days now and having email errors

In areas that I would normally have 4G I am getting 3G service and where I normally get 3G service, I get no data service. I am in Northern New Jersey

Update: Called my local Verizon Corporate store and they say it's a "known issue" so I guess they are working on it...

I am in a 3G only area with a 4G Charge.

Just called and the recording stated they are aware that users in my area are having issues with their 4G devices.

Very odd as I am 80 miles from the closest 4G area.

manually switch to CDMA, it will work on 3g then

Switching to REV A on the Thunderbolt seems to have got 3G back for me...

As someone who relies on Mobile Hotspot for business purposes, that's not much of a consolation though.

Posted earlier on the story on the main page. Just lost 4G in the Atlanta area around 5:20 p.m., then lost all data. Did the ##778# access to change Rev. A to "enable" from eHRPD and have solid 3G right now.

Updated. Now have 3G on LTE network on Charge. Was down about 2 hours.
