Vzw haha
So I'm at Verizon, waiting for pepboys to balance my tires, and I'm snooping through the phones. I changed the theme and look of a RAZR MAXX and moved on to a new phone...meanwhile, a vzw sales rep is trying to convince a would-be customer that the RAZR MAXX has the latest ics update..which it doesn't...it just looks cool cause I figited with it..the lady begins to argue with the sales rep and he goes to get assistance..I tell the lady what I did and we shared a good laugh at his expense...lol. It made my day, idiots.

He was being super awesome Wireless Vet, can't you see that? He took time out of his super awesome life to make the store rep look like a total NoOb and then took even more time of his supreme mega coolness to relay this awesome adventure on Android Central dot com. I wouldn't hate, I would congratulate.

I don't understand how he did anything wrong. He changed the theme and made the phone look different. He never told the representative that the RAZR received an ICS update. If you're going to sell a product than you should know it. Especially when the device is on display for customers to play around with.
And by no means did he waste his time. He had free time while he was waiting to get his vehicle back. I find his story comical because the representative was more clueless than the customer. Such a shame, really. If it hasn't been created yet, someone needs to develop an iOS launcher for Android. "As you can see here, the MAXX has been updated to allow iPhone users a simple transition into Android".
I'm so glad that this additional upgrade fee that's being imposed on us is providing us with top notch service and knowledge. /sarcasm

Admit it, it's Mom's tires that are being balanced, isn't it?

Its like any other job, some people take it serious some don't. I have talked to some in store Verizon sales people that know what they are talking about and some that don't.
Edit... and to be fair most all the reps I have dealt with at a corporate Verizon store are very knowledgeable. Most of the ones who don't seem to know as much work at the authorized Verizon dealer stores .

I don't see why anyone would waste their time with those small "authorized retailers". They are the worst.

I don't think some people realize there is a difference. In our town all we have is an “ authorized retailer “ the only thing I use them for is to pay my monthly bill, but a lot of people do all their business there. If I have any issues or when I upgrade I always do it in the town 30 miles over that has a corporate store.
