I'm running last years jet pack which is what there calling it. This year you have the smaller one which has global capabilities which I hear is good. Then the standard one that square puck which is just vzw not global. Battery usage varyies but its not all that good. Unless they changed u cant plug them in to car charger and charge and use at same time. They seem better and keeping a signal then my phone. There's time my nexus is data dead and I fire up my mifi and have data again.

My friend has the older version too. According to this review, the new model allows you to use it while it charges:

Mickey Papillon swears by this. You plug in your stick and it uses it for the hotspot. That way you can still use the stick as a stick when you want. (And which I need to do at shows when there are too many hotspots around.)

Thanks for link Phil. Not a bad solution. I'm still not sure which direction I'll take though.

I have the MiFi 4510L and am very happy with it. I am borderline. Picks up 3g at home. 4g not available yet in Cave Creek. But it is still quite fast for me. I use it with my laptop and also my galaxy tab. I am pleased. I upgraded to this 3 months ago

I have the 4510L and I love it. Battery is amazing especially for using LTE.
I have no complains about it.
