Verizon Selects - you may need to opt OUT- NOT IN.
Moderators: If this post belongs in another section please move it to the correct place.
My understanding about this service was that Verizon mobile customers would have to OPT IN to it. Today I logged into my mobile account and found the Selects option under the privacy section.
It showed that my cell phone line was automatically opted IN to this function. I had to manually remove my phone line from it on the screen. I have a corporate account so perhaps it is different than a consumers account but If you don't want to participate in these pushed ads I suggest you login to your account , check the privacy settings and verify that you have not been automatically enrolled in this service by default. Just can't trust ANY company to do the right thing regardless of what they say.Last edited by jerrod6; 12-09-2012 at 08:48 PM.

I'm relatively new to Verizon. What is Verizon Selects and where do I go to see if I'm opted in or out?

Re: Verizon Selects - you may need to opt OUT- NOT IN.
Just checked, I was opted in to Verizon Selects. I also found that my preferences in the CPNI (Customer Proprietary Network Information) had been changed back to "OK to share" when I am certain that I had opted out of that a long time ago. I am not sure if this was before we got smartphones in late Spring 2011. Looks like we all need to check these periodically, but I'd guess that it could be as far back as the last contract change/upgrade.

Re: Verizon Selects - you may need to opt OUT- NOT IN.
Mine says I'm not participating. I may be inclined to participate if Verizon offered a discount on my plan, but with no incentive why would I want to opt in for this service?

I checked mine and all lines were set to NOT IN. I did not have to do anything.
