Hey guys, newb here, looking at the Droid (it is sick as sh*t).

Anyways, I'm currently rocking the Storm 1 (eh) with family plan etc. I pay $29.99 a month for unlimited data usage. I am wondering if anyone knows if this would change with the Droid (Motorola).

I called VZW three times, each time got a different answer:
1) 49.99/month
2) 29.99/month
3) 44.99/month

Couldn't find a price online.

Also, I am using an "upgrade" from VZW to get the Droid, so I'll have the $199 pricing, if that matters!

If the price doesn't change, I'm going to buy my droid today!

Thanks in adv.

29.99

44.99 is only if you are on a corporate account (in which case you are most likely not paying for your phone or are being reimbursed by your work)

if you're paying 29.99 now, you'll pay the same with the droid

Same here. Went from a Storm to the Droid and all that changed in regards to the data plan was the name. Went from BB BIS to the "Smart Phone Data Plan."

You dont need the 44.99 plan unless you cant get your Exchange up and running with the 29.99 plan even then it might not work.

When I had a Blackberry I had to have the $45 plan to be on the BES

BTW, I believe the 49.99 plan is for data only i.e., if you don't want to use it as a phone. Not sure why you'd ever pay that much for a device and then not use it as a phone but it takes all kinds I suppose.
