    Default New Droid phones??

Are there going to be anymore Droid phones or are the Mini, Ultra and Maxx the last ones?

I can't say for sure, but I'm guessing they're going to retire that name. When the Ultra line came out, I noticed that most reviewers made a note of how dated and overbearing the whole Droid look and sound (robotic, aggressive, etc.) had become. With the pending sale of Moto to Lenovo coming up, and the success of the more recent Moto line (X, G, and E), this is the perfect time to abandon that branding.

    I agree.

I'd like to see Motorola release an Android phone such as the MotoX2 but with the Droid Maxx battery life. No one will ever complain about a large battery. If they did this I'd be willing to buy a Motorola again because I'd have the option of a Tempered Glass Screen Protector and some decent cases. No third party is going to make an accessory like that for a one carrier low profit device.

One can only hope! Oh, and please have superb build quality! The Samsung creak is annoying and the Droid Maxx was no better. Motorola had the most solid device I've ever held (Droid RAZR HD Maxx) and than for some reason ditched that quality.

    Samsung Galaxy S5 (Verizon)

I'm curious to see the sales numbers between the Moto X and the DROID MAXX. Verizon has invested a lot in the DROID name. I doubt Verizon would want to abandon it now.

Verizon may not want to abandon it, but Moto/ Lenovo may.

It was a good line considering they were one of the first Android phones, but with the success of the other Moto lines that are not VZW exclusive makes it likely to end the DROID line.

I will always remember the good 'ol " DROID " text tone.

Yes, but I think alot of the original appeal of them was attached with Moto, it would be pointless for VZW to attempt keeping the DROID line with another maker.
Verizon would have to get another big name maker to attempt it, and I don't see the likes of HTC, Samsung, or LG making a line specifically for VZW.
