Granddaughter is looking at Note 3's on swappa.com. I see that a number of them are Verizon/unlocked and global which I'm assuming means international, if you don't need international calling should you steer clear of this?

Verizon sells the note 3 factory sim unlocked. All this means is that it fully supports the Verizon network and can be used on gsm networks domestically and internationally, to a limited extent.

So long as it is advertised for use on Verizon's network, it should work fine.
