No, both carriers are very strict about only their own company branded phones being allowed on their networks.

The cdma technology is compatible BUT neither will activate devices from the other company, in general.

Verizon had been super strict about it but the last two years have seen them start to allow non-branded devices. I'd be curious to see if a sprint phone could be activated on Verizon. Probably not, but they have allowed unlocked phones with the right radios activate. Moto X Pure, Nexus 6P. Neither is sold by Verizon but both work.

Verizon won't activate a non Verizon certified device. The mxpe and 6p are Verizon certified devices.

Also The Moto X Pure and Nexus 6, and 6P have both gsm and cdma radios and are "non carrier" specific. Those are the only non verizon branded phones that can be used on Verizon's network.

The unlocked "non carrier specific" versions of the iPhone 5s,5c,6,6 plus, 6s,6s Plus, and SE can be used on Verizon as well
