so today a coworker brought his new gtablet to work and he should it off to me for a few minutes. he did put a custom rom on there, got the market working, same for flash, etc...
anyway, he showed me some .avi movies he had and they all played well. so i was curious how a .mkv 720p file would look and took my memory card from my phone and we loaded it to the tablet. the tab recognized the files just fine, but the playback was pretty bad. very jerky and stuttering. i was really disappointed.
so, i realized that i hadn't asked him if he was using the stock video player or if he had downloaded a video app, but i was really curious if this is everyone's experience. for me this is a big point to consider when thinking about the purchase. i just find it surprising that my galaxy phone can play these files so smooth but the tablet with a better processor can't.
