Possible bad phone?

I've had the phone for like 12 hours and it has froze and restarted like 7 times. Forcing a battery pull at times. Any suggestions? I can't even find a factory reset.

Be warned. As of this morning my phone has randomly rebooted at least 5 times from just an idle state. I haven't had it long enough to even put apps on it, this is straight the box. If my phone isn't a dud, this is going to be an awful awful phone.

Hopefully its just a bad phone because besides it restarting constantly it seems flawless. I could easily return. I'm slightly worried though because Ive looked at the sprint forum for the phone and a lot of people are having the problem and there seems to be no solution.

I have had my phone since Saturday and it does restart and it also keeps having errors when sending SMS messages in regards to the radio. Not to mention it keeps going from 3g to 1x for no reason at all and not staying connected to wifi. Kinda aggravating but other than that its a great phone. Does alot of cool things. If those errors were fixed it would be a phone I would hang onto for a long time!

Mine is doing the exact same thing! This is a real buzzkill Only hope I have is I bet a custom rom kernel will fix it. I wonder how long we will have to deal with this. Because I would rather have my Optimus V than all these bugs. Putting my faith in devs lol

My Optimus V never gave me any of these problems. I really do hope HTC patches it soon.

I've had mine for about 1.5 hrs, (yay! finally!!!) and I can safely say (for now) that you may want to get a exchange, mine is working really awesomely.

you don't have a case that covers the power button do you?
some have had problems from the power button being too sensitive
maybe you could test that out

My only issue is that I have to get used to it's "hugeness". when I hold it and do stuff with it, I sometimes hit the search button lol.

No my power button looks good. Radio Shack is sending a replacement should have in a few days. Tech support seemed to think it was a hardware problem. I'm guessing my phone won't be the only one screwed up in this way so everyone should watch for it. It's a fantastic phone I really can't wait for one that doesn't have so many problems.
