Re: [ROM][Team Hydro] LG VM701_Gelato 11-13
A bad phone is unlikely, but possible, I've had some bad phones before. What i think is more likely statistically is you have a bad app. You may consider data/factory reset from recovery and starting fresh. This suggestion doesn't make any sense if you're going to just toss all the same apps back on but if you are going to invest time into determining a possible cause, then that's a good place to start.

Re: [ROM][Team Hydro] LG VM701_Gelato 11-13
I've already addressed this - http://forums.androidcentral.com/vir...ml#post1404579
If someone ever puts a task killer on an Android ROM I've worked on, I ask that they please do not post in my ROM thread until after the ATK has been removed, and they've rebooted your phone. Please keep that in mind when making your decision as i do not offer any form of assistance to people who use task killers. - 11-16-2011, 08:02 AM #31

Re: [ROM][Team Hydro] LG VM701_Gelato 11-13
Try full wipe and clean flash and see what it does for yah. I'll edit this post in a bit and maybe you can check out a version that moves dalvik cache to /cache rather than /data will should free up some MB's for app installation. Win/Win, you get to see if a full wipe fixes your UI issue and i get to see if the cache mod works

EDIT - HERE IS THE DOWNLOAD LINK
The only change i made from the version you tested yesterday is an addition of a dalvik cache to /cache mod.
download, backup, full wipe, flash. Will take a while to boot because it will need to create the dalvik cache so be patient. As always, no warrantyLast edited by KSmithInNY; 11-16-2011 at 02:30 PM.

Re: [ROM][Team Hydro] LG VM701_Gelato 11-13
Quick Question while my phone takes 2 century s to Finnish.
instead of compiling a whole new kernel for the phone, since the optimus V and slider are so simialer can you just edit a few entries in the code for an optimus V kernel like adding a keyboard script, led light, etc and then just throw it into one of your roms? - 11-16-2011, 10:28 AM #36

Drew has the kernel piece. He could provide insight, I've heard a little bit from him but i know he's busy with all kinds of projects but he is still working on it. The good news is his kernels are pretty damn nasty so I'm sure once he has a tester available it will be buttery.

Re: [ROM][Team Hydro] LG VM701_Gelato 11-13
And it lagged like hell on stock too? Man i dont know dude, if your phone lags while it's clean and fresh you may have a bigger underlying issue.
I'd suggest you try cranking the CPU back up to 800MHz, like LG did, but thats how it came stock and you said it lagged on stock so your phone isn't smooth even at 800MHz which is an issue. - 11-16-2011, 01:49 PM #43
Re: [ROM][Team Hydro] LG VM701_Gelato 11-13
The Optimus V kernel (or even the Optimus S kernel) will never work on the Optimus Slider because the hardware is just a little too different.
The CPU is technically different (and needs a little different OC hacks), the Wi-Fi chip is different, the camera is different, and I'm not 100% sure what else. In short, any Slider kernels will need to be build from the official Slider kernel source.
Now on to the issues I'm having with LG's Slider kernel source:
1) It behaves strangely when compiling with GCC 4.6. I'm about to install an older version of Ubuntu on my HP server and see if using GCC 4.5 solves the issue, but:
2) The kernel built fine the first time (with ZERO modification, 100% stock source). Any subsequent compiles failed almost instantly, producing very cryptic error messages. Furthermore, when attempting to change/set the "machine type" in the configuration, there is no option that isn't a desktop PC platform. GCC 4.6 could be the issue, or LG sucks. Or both. I guess we'll find out soon. - 11-16-2011, 01:55 PM #44

Re: [ROM][Team Hydro] LG VM701_Gelato 11-13
Feel like trying 1 more build? It wouldnt require a wipe or anything, just flash over top. The goal of the build would be to assist the UI a bit more.
