Do you have root explorer or file expert installed on your phone? If so go to /system/build.prop and fix a line that mentions Max_events. The default value should be 60. Change that to 150, reboot the phone.
Should look like this
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=150
Let me know if that smooths out scrolling at all. It helps scrolling.
Edit - also add this line to the bottom of the build.prop
ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1
This line forces the launcher aka home to memory to prevent redrawsLast edited by KSmithInNY; 11-16-2011 at 03:52 PM.

Re: [ROM][Team Hydro] LG VM701_Gelato 11-13
Hey, I just downloaded your ROM and... nice. I would feel more comfortable if the Activate app was tucked back safely in the system folder, but being rooted now that shouldn't be too difficult to change.
Will you add a reboot/recovery option in the future? That was one of the easy fixes I've seen in previous ROMs, and I was surprised you hadn't actually implemented one. Minor detail, but still.
Also, tethering doesn't seem to work with any settings... how sad

Re: [ROM][Team Hydro] LG VM701_Gelato 11-13
Awesomee
with that being said I'm pretty sure It is the phone and nothing to do with software
since you know what the optimus S looked liked when optimized
and what the slider does now
is pretty identical
is great.
that gives me great confirmation that my phone is probley just defective
since I don't get anything close, even with you tweeks, to the smoothness the optimus V had when optimized - 11-16-2011, 11:02 PM #63

Re: [ROM][Team Hydro] LG VM701_Gelato 11-13
Well, i will say it doesn't look too buttery but i gotta admit, i was kind of expecting more lol! I certainly see the concern. Do me a favor and try a couple of different things, both at the same time if you will
1) Can you install a 3rd party launcher? I noticed you used stock home and i want to see if a 3rd party launcher works any better. I'm personally partial to ADW
2) Can you please download spare parts from the market and inside of spare parts, and turn window animation and transition animation to fast?
My GF's phone certainly seems a little more fluid, and i wouldn't compare your phone to an iphone, but my first android was the heroc which paired sense the resource hog with the underpowered 500MHz processor. NOW THAT WAS PAINFUL!!! - 11-16-2011, 11:47 PM #66
Re: [ROM][Team Hydro] LG VM701_Gelato 11-13
lol
oh trust me It looks 10 times worse in person xD
the camera adds a few FPS xDDD
but I do use ADW I just went back to stock to show you what it was pretty much like when I got it
I can take another video and post it showing you how ADW is,
lol
no difference
And thank you I will try that app - 11-16-2011, 11:59 PM

LINK
EDIT - Probably worth noting, i didn't even have the max events adjusted nor did i lock the launcher into memory. I had just flashed the original rom i posted for you to test today.

Re: [ROM][Team Hydro] LG VM701_Gelato 11-13
Alright,
fair enough.
it seams like your camara was a bit jittery though.
but seeing how you worked on so many projects for the optimus s and know how smooth its supposed to be, i beleave you when you tell me your gfs phone gets pretty close to that smoothness
I was thinking, because I read somewhere that the V had a modem processor that did most of the system tasks so the main processor could focus more on apps and stuff
maybe that part of my phone is deffective?
causing the extremely choppy UI
Because I was playing with a stock optimus V yesterday I have gotten for a friend and it's leaps and bounds better then the slider.
That should be the other way around >_<
Edit: Assuming that our phones still have the modem processor, which i'm sure they do seeing how the processor was upgraded from the V, and if i'm correct,
they don't exactly take stuff out that worked so well xD - 11-17-2011, 07:59 AM

Thank you for the quick and easy instructions! Scary I never stumbled onto this myself.
And yeah, I have only done so much with ROM modification. The power menu addition looked easy to implement, and I might attempt it and...probably not reinvent the wheel, just give the modified file to you guys

Re: [ROM][Team Hydro] LG VM701_Gelato 11-13
dumb question, but did you update your current build with the first post? also, im only getting the extreme lag when i get a text. its wierd though it only happens every 5 or 6 text though. then back to normal. then the lock screen is a little laggy but i can manage.

Dude we are not too proud to accept help. If you can get er done that certainly helps with the process.
No i should real quick though. Just a couple small mods to improve responsiveness.
Drew cranked out a custom OC kernel so i need to put that through it's paces before he makes it publicly available but at least he got one to build!!!
