what happens if you erase the main menu icon, the icon between the phone and internet icon on the main menu, is there a way to get it back?

Are you talking about the app drawer icon? What launcher are you using? What ROM?

And how did you erase it? Is it possible to drag it to the trashcan?

I guess so. I just tried. I help my finger on it until it vibrated and an trashcan and edit window appeared.

yes... you can get to it by pressing the far left hard key when on homescreen, menu pops up, touch add+, and select it from there...

I usually get rid of that button, put my market there and set my launcher so swiping up opens my app drawer
