I am using Bodhi Linux on my laptop and it seems like most of these fixes are made with Windows in mind. I have the Android SDK already installed but I have no idea how to start adb. Please help.

Well I don't know anything about your distro but what I do on mint 12 is cd path/to/adb
./adb devices

If you're phone shows up proceed with the adb commands you wanted
