The one I bought was through Amazon and yes it's supposed to be cdma. Those others i provided links to.. Well I honestly didn't read the descriptions too closely.

I'm excited it's been shipped already! Just gotta wait for the usps to get it to me!

Yeah I heard about that.. my plan was to use it without any service over wifi if that's possible

It will definitely get it if devs work on it. Right now there's only one PrimoC dev (jmz) though. There's more PrimoU devs.

I mean, when you're experimenting with new ROMs and OC'ing and such, at least a few freezes are inevitable. What am I supposed to do when my screen's frozen and I can't pull the battery?
I also like the ability to buy an extended battery, though from what I hear the One V has awesome battery life straight out of the box.
I'm so glad you shared that with us. Batteries do go bad, some sooner than others. It would suck to replace the entire phone when the battery decides to take a ****.

I doubt the battery will go bad soon enough for that to be an issue, and with the fact that you can hold down the power button (just like on a PC) and it will shut off, no matter what, I wouldn't see it being a problem for me. Seriously considering this phone...maybe...I'm so wishy-washy when it comes to large purchases.

I'm very disappointed. Amazon just issued a refund with no explanation as to why. Even though a tracking number was issued with a delivery date of 7/31-8/1 I never received the phone.

The seller didn't even respond to my emails.

My only guess is that she realized that she could get more money for it and decided not to sell it to me.

It just irks me how these people can pull this kind of stuff without any accountability whatsoever. Oh well. Guess I'll just buy a new one.

Htc phones seem to work well with overclocking when i had my HTC Inspire 4G with at&t i had it running at 1.8 ghz the max and it ran just fine with the only issue being it kill the battery in only 5 hours.

overclocking can't be done on the virgin mobile one v until htc releases the kernel source.

    That's not entirely true.
We have overclocking ICS kernels for the Evo V, without source. It can be done, but it's a lot harder.

I've had the one v for about a week now. I like it a lot... except for sense. I'm waiting for a build of CM9 to be more stable before flashing it again.

What exactly IS sense and what's so special (or not special) about it?

Sense is the UI overlay HTC installs on their devices. A normal user will enjoy sense, but a power user would rather root and install a custom rom.

So basically Sense is like a custom launcher? Let me guess, the resources it hogs isn't worth the few benefits it provides...

I'll find out soon enough as I'm supposed to get my OneV this afternoon!

For the record benslgdroid found out you don't even need to root to tether, all you need to do is switch to a third party launcher. All VM did was hide the tether app in the stock sense launcher, thinking that most users are too naive enough to find that out.

Sense actually runs well on the one v. My wife has one and its pretty amazing. I was impressed how much nicer it is than the elite. Even stock she gets a full day battery life with heavy use.

Same thing with the original OV's with 2.2.1, you just had to use quick settings or a custom shortcut.

I'm loving my one v so far. Htc makes it easy to unlock fastboot and rooting is super easy to do.

I do love the look and feel of sense but quickly grew annoyed with the lack of options with the stock ics.

I'm running cm9 with a sense theme which is well worth the 99 cents I paid for it! The only drawback is that Bluetooth and 720p recording don't work yet but they will soon I'm sure!

I ran cm10 (jb) for a short while last night but it still needs quite a bit of work before it's a daily driver!
