Google App Engine?

So I saw another OV user mention a game they were playing called Celes Arca. I downloaded it. Then I noticed something I haven't encountered yet. It wants to access my google account and an app engine? After looking it up... it's some kind of cloud service. But I'm leery of aplications that want all kinds of excessive permissions (like the ones want to be able to dial phone numbers or have SMS access). Are there any hidden fees and is this something I should be concerned about?

it appears safe. according to google the whole thing is carried out in a "sandboxed" environment. can read more on it here. : https://developers.google.com/appengine/docs/java/runtime
