No internet access on one specific Yet important router

OK so I've been searching and fiddling for a while and cannot figure this out or get a straight answer. We use an open Wi-Fi somewhere near us for our main usage. Everything connects to it just fine. Phones, computers, etc. We recently recieved an optimus v from our friend. It also has used this network many times. Now for some reason It connects with no access. It still connects to any other network just fine. This is also before and after data reset, new memory card, and new ROM. When I look in the router settings the only thing different about it as to other connected device is that it's mimops is 0 while others are at 3 and sgi is 0 to the others at 1.

Just to be clear, it's definitely the phone's fault, because everything else connects fine?
Also, what ROMs have you tried?

Encerspay45 is right to question that it's absolutely unclear the phone is at fault. The wireless router for that "open Wi-Fi somewhere" may have DHCP restrictions and limitations configured such that it could prevent an Internet connection even though there's a WiFi connection. I would do that on a router to limit the amount of ~~freeloaders~~ users which would sap the performance of a free local hotspot with too many connections. Another possible issue is that the WiFi signal/reception for the phone is so weak/poor that the DNS requests are timing out from a very unreliable connection.

Have you tried it with fewer of the other devices connected?

Yes everything else connects fine. It used to be on cm7 and it used to connect it then. We received it with that same cm7 and it then wouldn't work but only on this one WiFi. After complete wipe nadda and now on Godzilla ics and no go

The signal in our home is good and all devices including the optimus get good signal. No matter how many devices it always works. I don't believe these people know how to set up anything. And it shows all devices connected in the settings

I'd suggest trying another ICS ROM and seeing if WiFi works there or not.
You could also check out the Godzilla Thread to post your WiFi issue there, if you haven't already.

Download an app to your liking and try that 1st, would be my first suggestion

Just a wild guess here. Go into WiFi Settings and check down at the bottom of the settings menu to make sure that you aren't on a fixed IP address. To access the Advanced settings while in WiFi settings use the menu button to bring up the Advanced settings. If you are on a fixed IP address it may not work with the network range that the router assigns addresses from or that address may already be taken by another device.

Does it tell you anything when it tries to connect? Disconnected, not in service, out of range, etc.?

Well it didn't work before hand on CM7, yet prior to this it used to work on that same CM7 ROM. And so far everyone in the Godzilla seems to be doing good.

I looked already and the router is not set to static IP. It connects, but I get no access and I can only see the settings through the browser. No errors or anything. I can see it listed in the connected devices in settings

No, he meant on your phone. Make sure it isn't set to use a static IP.
