Any one else not liking the fact the Amazon requires you have a payment method setup with them to download even free apps? Not even crazy Apple does that!

That doesn't curb piracy. It feeds impulse buying. With so many free apps out there, I haven't found a need to buy one yet.

Impulse buying is definitely the reason. I have no plans on giving them credit card info just for free apps....And I even work for Amazon. Surely they will change this sooner than later.

And they have one-click buying. I've read some posts where people inadvertently purchased something. This is the main reason Amazon Appstore is staying off my handset for now.

The best way to purchase from the APPSTORE is via the computer. There should be no accidental purchases that way.

Some that i find worth it:

SetCPU
SVOX US English Grace ( Makes Text to speech really nice )
Backup to gmail (texts/mms/call log) and it restores all but mms right now, hopefull they can get mms restore to work but it is backed up in gmail.
Trillian (uses Android Cloud to Device Messaging (C2DM) So it doesnt use any extra batter keeping it up all the time)
WidgetLocker (nice to have stuff on my lockscreen)
Beautiful Widgets ( makes widget locker awesome for me )
SD Card Speed Boost ( Really does speed up sd card reading )
Full Screen caller ID
