Re: To root?

I have a Xoom 4G, it is rooted.

There are many benefits to having a rooted device, however, you should ask yourself if you need root access.
Do you want to overclock your device?
Do you want system level themes?
Do you want to have custom kernels to control different aspects of the hardware configuration?

If you answered yes to those, then yes, rooting your Xoom is worthwhile. I like CyanogenMod, and EOS. They both have the theme engine, and are able to use custom kernels. Research the features of each custom ROM on xda, and decide for yourself.

As to the one-click-root methods, it's been way to long since I rooted, but I am sure they are permissible.

Good luck, and Happy Rooting :)

Re: To root?

Unless you wish to install a custom ROM, there is no real reason to do so. Mine is rooted and running CM10 but it is the international version and Motorola did not bother upgrading us to JB unlike the US version. However, I am quite glad I did since I love CM10.
