offline photo editing. please help

I'm using an acer 720. I'm having trouble editing pics offline. I take the sd card from my camera, put it into the chromebook and then drag the folder with the pics in it into a folder in downloads. So far so good. I open a photo then click the editing pencil thing and try to crop it but after clicking enter the blue circle thing just keeps revolving forever. It never stops and when I finally close the picture down it is no longer viewable in the folder, it's just a greyed out icon. What am I doing wrong?

Welcome to Android Central! Which Chrome app are you using to edit? There are still limitations if you're not connected to the web. But there are an increasing number of apps that work offline. Try Pixlr Touch Up.
