Well it finally happened, the August 12th update was the very last one.
Now its time to decide what's next.
Atleast I'm up to date now, and have time to make a decision.

Lots of good choices out there! Are you still going to look for something in the original price range of the C720, or lsomething more premium?

I'd prefer an upgrade. Mine is the early version.
Acer C720-2802. 2gb ram 16 gb ssd and the Celeron 2955U processor.

So, I'd like more ram, and a better resolution screen. Touch screen optional but not mandatory. I'm not looking at the high end, maybe a mid range Chromebook.

I got this one recently from Best Buy when it was down to $399: [URL="https://forums.androidcentral.com/e?link=https%3A%2F%2Fbestbuy.7tiv.net%2Fc%2F221109%2F615614%2F10014%3FsubId1%3DUUacUvbUpU6617602%26subId2%3Dvbac%26u%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.bestbuy.com%252Fsite%252Fhp-2-in-1-14-touch-screen-chromebook-intel-core-i3-8gb-memory-64gb-emmc-flash-memory-white%252F6301869.p%253FskuId%253D6301869%252522&token=lv_-WJLL]www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-2-in-1-14-touch-screen-chromebook-intel-core-i3-8gb-memory-64gb-emmc-flash-memory-white/6301869.p?skuId=6301869[/URL]. It's currently at $449, but if you can be patient, chances are it'll come back down again. Nice machine with really good specs (Core i3, 8 GB RAM), premium build, and excellent features (backlit keyboard, good B&O speakers). Slated to get updates through June 2024.

That looks really good. All the features I want and then some. I want to make sure about one thing. It lists a micro sd card reader. Can you use it for storage overflow? If so do you know what the largest card you can use.
I looked at the pdf and it wasn't in there.

No, but that is a good question also. Can you move android apps to the sd card.?

What I was asking. Lets say I download some large files from online, can I store them on the sd card.?

I doubt Android apps can be moved to the SD card -- it should still have the same limitations as Android on a phone (and as far as I know, Chrome OS doesn't support Adoptable Storage, meaning you can't format the card to become part of Internal Storage). What I meant was the ability of Android apps to save data to the card, which has been around for a year: https://www.androidcentral.com/chrome-os-now-allows-android-apps-use-sd-cards

Not sure about downloading directly to SD, since I've never tried it. I can test it out later.
