I am new to this site. I don't know anything about the inner workings of Android technology. I'm hoping someone with some expertise can assist me...

My phone froze up on me the other day. Pressing the home button did nothing, so I turned it off. This is what I got when I turned it back on.

I have tried the "Try Again" option more than a dozen times. It immediately says "Error!" and then acts like the phone is trying to load as usual. It prompts me for my security pattern and then says "Loading Android." After 60-90 seconds, it's back to this same screen.

I'm not opposed to eventually doing a Factory Data Reset. However, I have the first year and a half of my daughter's life in photos on this phone. Since all this happened, I have learned the phone did not come with a SD card when I purchased it and the factory installed gallery app is not linked to Google photos. (I checked my Google account. They are not there.) I am willing to go to the ends of the Earth to retrieve these photos!

My service provider is no help at all. They told me it's all backed up in the Google cloud, but like I said, I checked and the photos are not there. I have also taken the phone to a repair shop. They opened the phone up & took out the battery but that did nothing. They also plugged it into their computer and tried to run some sort of force program on it to no avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to at least extract the photos?

Welcome to Android Central! Unfortunately, you'd probably have to look into a data recovery specialist, which can cost hundreds of dollars.:(
