All I want is a new wallpaper!

I had already rooted my kfhd and had Nova launcher. Everything was great!

Then today, out of nowhere I couldn't access any of it, I assumed the kindle had auto updated.
So I re-rooted.
That worked! Only, now I can't seem to change the wallpaper at all, regardless of the launcher I use.

Any ideas as to what happened or what I should do?

Thanks,

You are welcome. I at least wanted to give you a welcome here.
This is a shot in the dark, but perhaps in Settings-Display?

That works, as far as the system saying so.
But, the background never actually changes.

Is there any way to do a hard reset? This may suck, but I think the new update may be messing with the device in general. You may want to call manufacturer. See if they can help.

I did that already actually. I tried that after re-rooting. The kindle kept the various launchers and asked which one it wanted me to use.

So... maybe if I uninstall those, then I try and restore it to factory settings? Yeah! Haha I'll try that!

That would be a good place to start. One of the launchers might not be playing well with the device.

Ah well, it's only a minor annoyance anyway.

What can you do?

Try installing Multi Live wallpaper. This may work. You can apply wallpapers to all pages or individual pages. May not work, but it's worth a try.

Did you also remove all launchers and just go back to the stock launcher?

Yes, I did remove all other launchers and then I restored the device to factory settings...

I tried multi live wallpaper, wallpaper manager lite, wallpaper changer, and jellybean hd theme.

"from looking around the web on most of the android sites...
i think its to do with the last OTA update (7.4.1) and Amazon blocking something
hopefully its just a matter of waiting and seeing if it can be sorted with just a simple launcher update"

That's what someone else said on another forum.
So now I'll just have to wait I suppose.

While waiting, I would contact Amazon and complain. Not a rude email, just a 'Hey, I don't like what you did.'

Right, but by rooting the device it voids the warranty.
I don't know how willing they will be to decide to change something that only messes with rooted devices.
