Loose the carousel

Wish we had an option to just not have the carousel. I'd rather loose it than to have to constantly go thru and remove things. I mean all your junk should be easily available on the homescreen. Or....at least have the option to 'never have on carousel'.
I mean every song, every document gets dropped into it.
Needless when they're all right in front of you anyways...and I'm sure it takes up resources.

I like having my books there but other than that I wish everything you open wouldn't get put in there.

Install Go Launcher or ADW Launcher and no more carousel.

Unfortunately, I'm virtually certain that the Carousel and its placement on the home screen was one of those "marketing" decisions that ignores the practical user experience in favor of the "sizzle" animation provides. Dumb.

I don't mind having access to recently used apps but I want to decide which apps to include, not have to remove them one by one. And who on earth thinks it's a better idea to take up more than half the screen real estate at the top of the screen with the carousel and place "favorites" below? Obviously, the order should be reversed.
