Hey so installation seems to go fine. But when I reboot the system just continues restarting. It never reaches ICS and just continues restarting. Do you know what's the problem?

EDIT: It seems to be working now. I reinstalled like 5 times.

You're stuck in fastboot mode. What bootloader?

Alright guys I figured out the boot issue, the kindle got stuck in recovery mode(5001) so we need to get it in a normal boot(4000)

Try this:

Turn Kindle off
Uninstall/delete drivers
Reinstall drivers
Navigate to KFU's tools folder containing fastboot.exe
Shift + right-click on the tools folder
Select Run in Command prompt (or something like that)
When the prompt comes up, enter:

fastboot oem idme bootmode 4000 (if firefirefire is installed)
or
fastboot -i 0x1949 oem idme bootmode 4000 (if firefirefire is not installed)

When it says "<waiting for device>“ turn the Kindle on
Your prompt should reflect the change but it may not (wait about 30 sec.)
Hold power button for 30 sec to shut down

The device should boot normally

Worked for me good luck guys
:D

I am having trouble with my KF. I ran everything just like it said, but it still says that I don't have adb root.

Here is a copy of the command prompt window

Scary a guy with 2 posts here at this forum posts this thread then disappears, then people actually risk bricking their tablets using his "howto".

For the people having issues you might look at the Kindle forum over at xda-developers. You're gonna get better help there for this particular situation (and yes, it's complicated).
