I am having a problem entering my s/n because it is a verizon phone it has an imei# and te program will not accept that as a serial # what should i do?

The serial number is like 8 digits long. It's not the IMEI. You can usually find it in the box it under there battery depending on there phone.

I am trying to use the procedure on my Samsung s2 tab T818A.
i have the S/N form the settings, but I can't see the model name anywhere.
(It doesn't have a removable battery).
I tried SM-T818A and SMT818A but Kies does not accept it.
Any suggestions ?

I have a tab 4 SM-T530NU running Android version 5.0.2 with the same problem.
I've you're suggestions but it says that my device can't be initialized.
What should I do
