Is my Galaxy Note 1 truly bricked?

I was using Whatsapp or WeChat and my Note 1 just turned off when I pressed the home button. I tied charging, taking the battery out and putting it in, pressing the start button and then home button but the screen just remained black. Is it bricked?

try this take the battery out leave it out for an hour then put it back in but when doing this put the charger in at the same time. if that dont work try this (but you may loose everything on your devicev ) take the battery out run samsung kies go to settings then service recovery tap that and when it prompts put the battery back in then go threw the proceeder
