Not Receiving Group MMS

Whenever I receive a group MMS (actually any MMS) when I don't have a data connection it doesn't download. But when I get back to somewhere where I have a data connection (3G, 4G, or wifi) it still doesn't download the message. It just sits there saying it is downloading and tells me when the message will expire but nothing happens after that except for my battery getting drained really fast. I'm using a Nexus S 4G on Sprint with GoSMS. I have all the settings set to automatically download on GoSMS and the native messaging app. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions. I've tried the usual stuff (uninstalling and re-installing GoSMS, using Handcent, using just native app, turning phone off/on, turning phone off for a long time with the battery pulled out). Also I do not have this problem if I receive the message while I have a data connection.
