Read Reports

My friend an I both had android phones. I had T-Mobile Galaxy S2 and I'm not sure which phone he had with AT&T. Question is we both had our phones set to get delivery reports an read reports so we would know if the texts we sent each other had been delivered and read. I worked fine. Now he has changed to an I-Phone 5 and we can get delivery report from each other phones but not read reports. We both have the settings in out phones turned on to receive the reports .I upgraded to the S4 and it still does not work We get the delivery reports but no read reports. Does any one know whether or not the Samsung Galaxy is compatable with the I-Phone to exchange read reports. Just strange that delivery report works but not read report. Does anyone have an answer?
