Google Now Learning Timeframe?

How long did everybody have to use Google Now before it really started to become useful? I have been using it for about a month and I really am not impressed with what it is doing for me. The vast majority of the time it just shows estimated time to work/home, appointments on my calendar, reminders, and the weather. I was hoping to see information related to the other card categories as well. At this point I don't feel it's worth the additional drain on my battery.

I only get the weather and sometimes recent searches, and sometimes the nearby card. I've had G.Now for quite sometime. But I guess I live a boring life.

suppose it depends which country you are in.
in the UK it does very little from what I can see other than weather and telling me how to get home or to work.
only rarely has it ever given me something that is nearby, and that was a bus stop.

i've never seen it give me a reminder about anything in my calendar (i guess that is because those event didn't originate from Google+)
