google local - whats nearby

Before when i am in unfamiliar town, i would use google local to locate fast food, stores, and gas station. It was pretty successful and each result was sort by distance very nearby. But now it just takes you to google maps with results miles & arcoss town. What app is replacing google local?

It's all pretty much incorporated into Google Maps (or Google Now). In the Google Maps search bar, just type in "Gas stations near me," and you'll see icons pop up on the map. To see the list sorted by location including reviews, tap the Results icon in the search bar, just to the left of the X. It doesn't exactly sort by ascending distance, but they should all be in the general vicinity.

You can get the same results in Google Now.
