Question about Google Now Launcher on 4.1.2.

I have the Straight Talk Samsung Galaxy S3 (SCH-S968C) which is on Android 4.1.2. Straight Talk doesn't do OTA OS updates, so I'm stuck on 4.1.2 (I suppose unless I root, which I don't want to do.)

The only feature from the Google Now Launcher that I want is the ability to say "Okay Google" from my homescreen. Do you know of any apps that replicate just the functionality or if that's one of the features that is impossible on 4.1.2?

If you have a computer you can install samsung kies and update it there if it will let you or just try checking for the update again.

I actually have tried Kies, but it didn't show any available firmware upgrades. Should it? Perhaps I did something wrong with it.
