Hey guys, I'm trying to add new contacts on my new Nexus 5, but I can't seem to prevent the device from linking my contacts information with my Google+ circles, thus adding numbers my friends no longer use, repeating email addresses, etc.

Is there a way around this? I'm trying to add contacts using my Google account and wish to have them on Google Contacts, however, not linked to any Google+ profiles.

You can delete old contacts from your Google+ Circle. However, anyone with a gmail address will be somehow linked as everything revolves around the gmail address.
