For laughs, I've enabled ART on my N4, let it switch my apps over (no weirdness encountered so far) but I'm not seeing *any* difference at all.

If you are running with ART, are you seeing a difference in performance?

Enabled it on my Moto X. Don't see a difference so far after a couple of hours. Hoping for even better battery life.

It made transition between windows smoother, so much that when I switched back to Dalvik I couldn't stand it (the short waits between tapping on something and reaction, like tapping on home or recent buttons). It's not faster like a faster CPU, but it does seem to suffer less from interface stutters. It's more of a subtle feel, similar to when you run iOS6 on an good specs iPad where everything feel smooth. I feel ART made the entire argument of iOS(7) being smoother invalid as this point.

Since we already have fast hardwares, it's hard to tell the difference since it's differentiate by fractions of a second. Some apps should load faster too naturally due the ART compiling the complete program to machine code.

Just switched mine over for kicks. Reboot takes a hell of a long time. Looking at a "Android is updating" screen now... ""optimizing app 56 of 176"..... I didn't even know I had that many..........

Thinking right now it could be a placebo effect. I never really had lag, but I switched to see the effect.

Not sure if keyboard is faster or I'm typing faster.

It almost doubled my battery life on my n5 but performance hasn't been noticeable.

Let's put it this way: before I enabled ART, my Nexus 5 was screaming. After I switched it on, it ROARS.

I think it would help if people posting in this thread indicate their device. Most are doing so already; it helps understand if the difference experienced is bigger or smaller on a given device.

I switched my N5 over two weeks ago. There is was an immediate difference. I don't have any system or app monitor that will let me see if apps run any faster so I am not claiming that.
What I see is a faster response and performance in the system functions. Apps start faster, screens scroll faster, folders open in a flash so as far as the system actions are concerned seems like improvement.

I liked ART better but I noticed I couldn't upload pics to facebook. Anyone else have this problem?

I think this is only true for photos taken directly from Google backup. I can upload just fine if the pic is local and and I'm not using the Photos app.

I did it just to see what all the fuss was about. Battery life was about the same, but some apps were not able to run, so I switched back.
