The best I could do so far was mute a conversation. I don't want to permanently block but I want to be able to hide all emails from certain senders at least temporarily to avoid distractions.

I searched and saw it's possible to create a filter (or it was in the past, anyway) in the desktop settings, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of an easier way via the mobile app. Thanks.

You could mark it as spam and check your spam folder once in a while.....

Thanks, but there isn't a way to do that in the app? I tried labeling threads for different folders but I still got notifications since I can't label the sender, only the messages.

Incidentally, I tried to find a way to filter a sender using web view but the Google Help instructions didn't match up with what I saw (or didn't see). Sorry, I may not have had enough caffeine yet!
