Answering machine auto loudspeaker!

Every time my phone rings and I miss it the answering machine kicks in (normal)... However when it kicks in, it plays it on loudspeaker!!! I first hear my voice recording 'hello its cam, leave a message' then I hear the message being left!!! Any idea how to turn this off?

Oh I'm using a sony experia z1 compact on KitKat

which KitKat version....4.4.what? And if you wear a headset does it just play the message through the headset and not the loudspeaker. Does it work with wired and Bluetooth headsets?
