When is the fix for removing the read-only attribute for SD cards going to be removed?

Motorola Razr M, using Verizon, on Android ver. 4.4 (KitKat)
Previously was Icecream Sandwich but since it updated the OS, my SD
card has become read-only. I can no longer take pics and store them on
the SD card, perform app backups on the SD card, and so on.
I purchased the SD card with that storage versatility in mind.
I am hoping that this was not intentional and that a fix in on its way.
:(

There are lots of fixes in the Play Store and forums if you're rooted. I think you meant your title to say that you want the read-only attribute removed, not the fix removed. ;)

You can still move photos, Docs, and some apps to the SD card. I store all of my images to the SD card... Use a file browser such as My Files to do it. In order to move apps to the SD card you'll have to go to settings-application manager to move the ones that can be moved.

The latest OS update no longer allows ANY app to write to the SD card. I use a couple of file manger apps and they can no longer
write to it as well.
The best way I can figure is to connect to my pc and transfer back and forth via Explorer. That does work.
From what I've heard from Verizon... It was an accident and a fix is supposed to be coming out in the near future. With the SD card in RO mode, that sort of defeats the purpose of having it.

Not true.. The stock camera will write the photo to the SD card.. settings-storage location-memory card and it works for me..

My Files lets me move files to the SD card.. You can also move many apps to the SD card from application manager.

I am running ver. 4.4.2 (updated about a wk ago.)
That's when it began r/o attrib's on the sd card.
Spoke with Verizon and their Tech's stated it is a function set by the new os.
I can still write to it with no problems as long as I do it from outside the phone (pc hookup).
