Where can I get an earlier version of Android to install in place of Kitkat?

I have a tablet that has Kitkat installed and I would like to replace that with an earlier version that allows the use of the SD function without the need to "root" it. Is there a website that I can go to do this?

What tablet? Was that tablet ever available with a version prior to KK? If JB was never available for your device, you'll be stuck. If it was available, you'll need to locate the ROM and figure out how to flash it (if you even can without rooting). Of course, you'll need to back up any data you want to retain before doing so as the device will be wiped during the process.
