I have a Sansung Galaxy Tab 4 and can't get the SD card to mount. Kitkat running on it...

Put the card into a card reader and see if you can see it in a PC. Either the card is bad (or unformatted, which you can correct in the PC if the PC sees the card - or unpartitioned, which you can also correct in the PC if the PC sees the card in Computer Management), or there's something wrong in the phone and it has to go into the shop for diagnosis (bad card socket, bad connection, bad motherboard, etc., etc.)

If the card is bad, and it's a SanDisk, use their live chat on their website. They'll replace it. If it's someone else's card, try contacting them. Since I use only SanDisk (both because they're high quality and because they're so easy to deal with), I don't know how other companies handle that situation.
